Overview

Safeguard your clients against the cost of their home insurance excess.

Unexpected excess costs can turn a simple home insurance claim into a financial burden. Alps Home Excess Protection gives your clients peace of mind by reimbursing their excess following a successful claim on their home and/or contents insurance. With a choice of flexible aggregate limits, clients can choose the level of cover that suits their needs – protecting themselves fully without compromising on excess amounts that could otherwise leave them exposed.

What’s Covered:

Home Excess Protection offers flexible cover limits – from £50 up to £2,000 – allowing clients to tailor their protection to match their insurance excess. Claims are quick and easy to process through a broker-friendly online portal, keeping the experience simple for both brokers and customers. This cover applies to excesses on both home and contents insurance, helping to plug cost exposure and offering protection at a fraction of the potential excess amount. It’s a straightforward way to give clients added confidence and full financial reassurance when making a claim.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Manual Endorsements / excess types covered?

Yes. Any situation or cover that is provided within the client’s core home insurance policy would be covered eg excess specifically for houses situated in flood risk areas

Can we part cover excess?

Yes, we can part cover excess. If your client has a £2,500 excess but the maximum is £2,000, we would cover up to the amount of £2,000 and the remaining value would be for the client to pay. Note, in this scenario, the client can’t take out multiple policies to cover the amount – it is one policy per home insurance policy only.

Is a second property policy excess covered?

No, this policy only covers the policy holder’s primary residence.

When do I submit a claim?

You must notify us within 31 days of the successful settlement of your home and/or contents insurance claim. Any claims will not be accepted for incidents that occurred before your policy began, or for any event you were already aware of and expected to result in a claim.
